If you are in a typical protestant church, the pastor has no authority over anyone, nor does he have any special insight about the bible.
Protestantism is based on "sovereignty of the soul" and "priesthood of the believer" which means a bum on the street corner has as much authority to interpret the bible as he sees fit as does anyone else, including the preacher or pope.

a pastor must be addressed as brother and not pastor. If your pastor are happy to be addressed as pastor by its members then definitely there something wrong with your church.

They are not really any special any other church members, but they have been entrusted to lead God's sheep. By calling him pastor you are referring to his degree. When you see your doctor, do you call him/her Dr. Whatever or do you use their first name only? Same thing just different vocation.

Well.....that is really up to you and him. Pastor is a title of respect. It is not that they are 'any more special'....but most Pastors have gone to college and have a vocation of ministry that many others do not.
Do you have any issue calling your Primary Care physician, DOCTOR???

In Ephesians it tells of offices in the body of Christ,Apostles, Prophets,Evangelists,Pastors
and teachers, they are for the perfecting of the saints and the work of the ministry and the edifing of the body of Christ and you should respect anyone holding those offices if they are true to the word of God,but if your Pastor says you can call him just by his name then do so,if not then you are in order to say pastor John. They are considered your elders by Jesus and are to be reverenced

They are your authority in the church. He deserves your respect. He deserves your prayers.
Treat him as such. It is given by God to him to teach and protect you.
