There is no such thing as a selfless person.

Anything anyone does to help someone else is a selfish act. It is not for the receiver's benefit, although it might help, it is for the giver's benefit because it makes them feel good about helping someone else and if nothing else, it gets them off their back. So that is a selfish act too.

Anything anyone does to help themselves is for their benefit, no one else's, even if it is for their wife's/husband's or children's benefit. So there is no such thing as a selfless act.
.
Some of the answers I have seen to this question relate to God. How come? If there is such a being, why does he or she let people suffer and children die? It has been my experience to find religion kills. Look at all the wars we have had. Everyone says God is on their side. Is he? He can't be on both sides at once, so who's kidding who. It's what people choose to believe because it suits them to do so. Another selfish act.

Most people in the Philippines, for instance are begging for money and they are very religious. Although it gives them the right values in life, God doesn't seem to be helping them very much, does he? And what about those starving in Africa? All the money we sent through Live Aid doesn't seem to be helping either. They are still starving.

The money goes to the government to help the people when the government seem to be helping themselves first. Another selfish act.

See the film "Oh God" with George Burns. All the answers are there and you will see that it puts things in their right perspective.

As for Hunks. Does that make a difference?

Again, it's what you choose to believe, if it maeks you feel any happier.

I believe that there are still selfless person in this world. They will do their best to help whoever need help. However, a lot of them preferred not to be publicized. This is mainly the fact that a lot of people will look at them in a strange manner coz they felt people doing this type of work is usually very free.

I believe there are a lot of selfless people out there, but they're doing small things on a daily basis. If you're talking about selfless BIG things, people have short attention spans and limited resources, so even if they have a big hearts, their time and attention and resources run out to help in big ways.

Well its sad to know there are people like that ... but there are people that secretly gives to charity.
And those are people worth blessed.
I guess in life and in this world, balance is an important thing. If there is Bad, there is Good.

i dont see that as glamour, but they are interested in looking selfless when they might fall short. like a lot of people think they are religious, but only when it suits them, society is like that, greed is the name of the game

I do truly feel that you don't brag about the good things you do. You do good things for others because that is what is good for the Human race. It should be a natural responds to an other human in need.
