in order to do this, braid your hair around two wires the lengths of your hair, then use hair ties or ribbons tight to keep the braids in place, then you can bend the braids in any direction you wish, including pippi longstockings.

Try plaiting a wire through your hair as well and then curl it up when you've finished plaiting. Should work....just be careful you don't hurt yourself with the wire...maybe put something on the end the stop it poking ur scalp

Take wire and wrap it around a pigtail. Then hairspray your pigtail A TON slowly removing the wire and putting hairbands in several times (hair= -, hairbands= _) Your pigtail should somethinglook like this: --_---_--_----_---_. Hairspray the exposed hair and leave your hair like that for several hours. Then in the morning take a strand of wire and put it in a pigtail.

Like everyone else said, braid in wire from the craft store. Floral wire would probably work well.

you can use wire hangers. you just untwist the hanger part and straighten out the whole thing. braid your hair, then stick the hanger through the braids and you can bend them in any shape. it works and it doesnt hurt at all.

a friend of mine used wire coat hangers (she bent them in the shape she needed and braided her hair around it) and lots of hairspray...she won first place in the costume contest for best impresonator so it worked, maybe it will for you too!
