Get more sleep
Exercise moderately and regularly
Take enough special time for yourself -at least 1 hour each day, and ask others to respect that.
When people start to bug you, just let it roll right off your back.
Take up yoga
Take a walk in a really nice park or on the beach
Take up gardening or go get some plants in containers and care for them

Anxiety just plain sux! I have been dealing with it for some 20 years and it comes out of nowhere and lasts for seconds or sometimes hours. I had been on a light drug but I have found many ways to deter this at least down to a bare minimum.
First keep Chamomile tea in the house it's an herbal tea and a natural calmative. really helps. Also, stay away from any caffeine. Coffee, tea, cocoa, and many other things. At least cut back, but the coffee and tea will ignite it for sure. Also try calming exercises like Yoga and stretching. These are terrific ways to relax and push away the tension inside you. And get plenty of sleep. Proper rest is of the utmost impoartance.
Not to get personal, but an active sex life really helps. Go for it!
Anxiety can ruin an outing or even a major event. Don't let it. Some people succumb to it and end up recluses. No way! Don't let it get to you. You can beat it. I have! '-))

I have a severe anxiety problem (and take drugs for it. . .).

Before the drugs, they would give me tricks to try and relax: breathe deeply in through your nose, and out your mouth; close your eyes and visualize your body relaxing one area at a time; listening to soothing music. . . It will be what your anxiety symptoms are (my throat tightens up, hense the in through the nose breathing) what may work for you. But if it is severe enough to where it interferes with your life, you may want to look into some drugs. They are not bad, and I am not "drugged up". I like not sitting somewhere and suddenly having an attack and having to go home. It was ruining my life. I enjoy having a life now.

Try cutting out the caffeine. Make a list of all the things that are bothering you, through your whole life, sit down read your list to someone you trust. Go out a lot, this will get you used to normal stress, and you will learn how to deal with over stimulation. Maintain a healthy lifestyle. Cut out alcohol, alcohol causes anxiety in some people, especially if you are a daily drinker.

Lay off too much alcohol, coffee, and sugar. Get enough exercise. Figure out what is important in your life. Get involved with work and with good friends. Try meditation or yoga. If you still feel so stressed out you can't enjoy your life then see a doctor and find out if you have a clinical condition called anxiety disorder.

Warm bath. Pet a kitty who loves attention and will purr for you at the slightest touch. If there is a specific problem causing your anxiety, make a plan for dealing with it or contingency plans in case things don't go well. Then you will know you have done all you can for now.

Otherwise, cardio can help. Go jogging, biking, or swimming.
