And does that then make someone a murderer? Not asking about Suicide being a sin, but IF someone, a terminal cancer patient, no hope for survival, suffering in pain wants to die peacefully, and can not do this on their own, would Christians support this? And in terms, does that make the person that assisted a murderer?

Just a question, no harping please. I have my own idea of it, I am a christian, just wondering what others will say about it.

in theory: Anybody who wants to die peacefully, specially a patient like you mentioned, should be helped in his/her last wish.
I don't know if it's Christian-like, but i do think Jesus would have supported it.

in practic: same vision, but i would be to scared to help. And i don't think i could ever make such a decision, besides about my own life.

"Assisted suicide" is a grave sin. It is very much against Christianity.

I will never know why people speak of persons with terminal cancer as having "no hope for survival." For two reasons.

First, there are cases of miraculous cures.

Second, if you're diagnosed with a form of cancer that's considered terminal now, who's to say that a cure won't be developed sometime before you die? In such a case, your disease is no longer terminal. There's always hope.

Yes. To take one's life is to deny faith in God's healing grace and the power of Christian prayer.

Yes. To assist someone to take his or her life is murder or at leats manslaughter. It is very much against the law and even amounts to practicing medicine without a license.

The courts and state laws are very clear on this.

I believe only God should control our time of death, no matter how painful death is. A person who assists in suicide is a murderer. I don't think people should be hooked up to machines to prolong a painful death, but suicide is out.....)(

I'm a christian, and I think that that person should wait for God to call them home. Is their heart even right with Him? My mom died of cancer and these thoughts wrestled with her for a while, but she resolved that the best time is God's time.

To commit suicide or assist in it is to put ourself in the place of God. The dignity of the human person requires us to allow death to occur naturally according to God's plan...not ours.

no. not against Christianity.

Against God, you bet it is. God holds your breath in His hand. It is not up to us to dictate when someone should go home.

Pretty soon I will make a living will out, to prevent anyone from keeping me alive in this scenario. God has full control of when I go home.
