Well I know I could use a drink after a long day with 18 month olds to 2 year olds all day.

I have two aunts who are teachers. When they get home they are busy grading papers and tests and doing lesson plans to get drunk. I've learned from them that teaching goes way beyond the in-school hours. I wouldn't blame teachers if they did get wasted when they have the time.

There will always be some good apples and bad ones... i would consider it a blessing if they do not get drunk in class and after work is their own private matter. Providing too that the next day they do not get a hangover and can still teach!

I personally knew a teacher who used to get drunk when he got home but is now in AA.

No, seriously, I'm sure there are some teachers who are alcoholics, just as some cops, some stockbrokers, some advertising execs, some doctors, and some of every profession are.

I dated a teacher, and he always was going to parties and drinking. he was just out of school and had his first teching job! the teachers that he worked with got together at least one night a week at a bar! so to answer your question, yes teachers drink. they are just like everyone else! i have drank with teachers once i was out of school. i have even had one buy me a drink!
