I bought the 3-pack of JVC MiniDV 60/90 digital video cassettes. I asked someone tonight why I would get horizontal lines on my video, which I noticed when I was editing. He said because I reuse the tapes. I have only reused once, meaning I am just now taping over the original time I recorded on it. Is this true?

They can normally be reused up to 20 or 25 times without problems. Most likely your camera needs a head cleaning. You can pick up a cleaning tape at most electronics stores. Just put it in and follow the directions on the tape.

Yes, you can reuse the Mini Dv tapes more then once. I had that problem with mine. I finally got a cleaning tape, and even the tapes I had that I thought was messed up, it was good! The cleaning tape is the same size as the mini dv's of course and just follow the directions!

Actually it's pretty common to have to clean it every so often.

You can but for quality is better if you dont reuse the tape because when you do this the tape is not totally erased and can produce deffects on the video quality
