I was called two filthy names for telling some twit named pretty lady that it was horribly shallow to ask people what their favorite color was, i thought the point of things here was to make some sort of sense, she even felt she should email me twice telling me what a b-eye-tch i was, well im intollerand of stupidity, i admit, but im not sure telling her her question was ignroant, really deserved that sort of response. lol i just told her she showed her true colors.

I skim the annoying and inane questions, but even what may be perceived as stupid questions by some may actually be interesting to others. Bear in mind that the kiddos are out of school with more time on their hands, and you may well have been communicating with a 10-11 year old ( I think I may have in fact answered a few questions like this simply because I can answer as many as I want). The stupidity I can't tolerate I simply ignore and go on to questions of interest.

Remember that not all people have the same level of intelligence or life experience, and don't sweat the small stuff.

"I don't agree with what you say but will defend to the death your right to say it". Freedom of speech and freedom of the press can be misused, but they are nevertheless freedoms that we (at least in the United States) have the right to.

Questions on etiquette on that site, and on the forum, whatever subject of the heading they are under, are appropriate here. I wouldn't call you an ugly name (for any reason), but you know, maybe she was young and just trying to fit in on the question/answer thing.

Not everyone sees things the same. Perhaps she was simply trying to make 'conversation' because she was home alone or whatever. Or, she could have had a school project in which she had to find out a percentage of person's choices about something. It's not a criminal act to ask what people's favorite color is.

I think you might have been a little harsh with her. This is for fun. It doesn't cost us anything extra to be nice.

While at times it certainly doesn't seem like it, America is still a free country. (For now at least.) I think people should be able to ask whatever question their heart desires, no matter how rude, shallow, stupid or ignorant. If I see a question I think is really dumb, I just go on to the next one. Really, what is the big deal?

Ahem, you're calling someone a twit. Hardly civil, is it?

To my mind, appropriate questions are of two kinds: practical or interesting.

But any questions that don't violate the rules are allowable.

To that person, getting a bunch of people's answers to "What's your favorite color?" was sufficiently interesting to spend points asking it.

If you don't find it interesting, then why bother with it at all? There's tons more questions to spend your time on.

When you insulted her, did you expect her to thank you? What was your purpose?

I think that any and all types of questions should be allowed. However, when it comes to getting an answer/response, there should be a line drawn when it comes to name-calling. I mean come on. There's more problems going on in this world than calling people names over a stupid question.

The point of this place is an "OPEN" forum, you maybe too shallow to understand that. What that means is you can ask anything you want to and then get answers back. If you don't want to answer a question, you don't have to!! Freedom of speech, does that ring a bell with you?

I know what you mean. Some bit*h kept emailing me because I answered a question asking what my least favorite color was... orange... and that was her favorite color(she didn't ask the question) and kept sending me offensive emails. I reported her and in the report put a copy of the emails she sent me...
