ok...

For scientific and intellectual evidence for the existence of God, see http://www.godsci.org/gs/godsci/evidence.htm

I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).

Cordially,
John

Well... if we're leaving science out of the equation shouldn't you make the same stipulation for the Bible?, or even the Qur'an Not that one is equal to the other in any way, but both of these serve as a support for the world views and/or religion of many.

My personal views as an atheist... that being a rejection of all religion and denial of the existence of any gods or supernatural beings and powers... come from my observations of the natural world and my investigations into the cases of those who claim to have supernatural powers. I have seen nor heard any case that i cannot disprove with my own critical thinking. Furthermore the cases for all religions make no logical sense... therefore to me... they are false.

I regard myself as secular. Sometimes a person asks whether I believe in God. The problem I have is that I don't know - and that's because if I start with the presumption that there was a true God at one time long, long ago - then I also know that mankind has written, re-written, molded, transformed, tampered with and revisioned everything having to do with the concept of God to the point that whoever the original God may have been, he/she is unrecognizable in today's world. God has lost identity, if there ever was one in the first place. So I am secular, for lack of a better reason than that.

I am constantly seeking knowledge in any form. I do believe in Christianity. I don't consider myself a Christian in the traditional sense. I believe all religions have a ring of truth but since I'm most familiar with Christianity, as it is what I was raised as, I study it more readily than others. That is not saying I don't study other religions just not as often or as easily. In fact right now I'm in the middle of "The Way Of The Bodhisattva" By Shantideva, A book on Buddhism.I believe in mutual respect. As in I respect you, you respect me. Simple, huh. (Sarcasm) I try not to take myself to seriously because if I did I would have missed some of my life's funniest moments. I like to think of myself as open minded but there are times where that is not true.
To be honest, The simplest way to answer this question is I'm still searching.

Mine is the Christian faith. We gave up and came to the understanding that God is indeed holy. We "agree" with God that we could never in a million years earn through good behavior a place near Him in Heaven after we die.

The pride has to go. The sense of personal sufficiency must go. The "I am the captain of my own fate" must go.

We realize that we are unworthy to live because we have sinned.

Then comes the good news. God became flesh in the form of Jesus Christ, came to earth, fulfilled His own requirements by living a life with no sin, then became our sacrifice because of our sin.

Wow. If that wasn't enough, The Comforter, who we refer to as the Holy Spirit, lives within us to guide and direct and make our prayers acceptable to God.

Jesus (who we believe was God) said the most important commandments were to love God with all our hearts, mind, and soul, and to love our neighbor as ourself.

I wish I could say I follow that teaching but I don't sometimes. When I don't, I can go to God and ask forgiveness in Jesus' name because like I said, Jesus already paid the price for the sin I have committed, do commit, and will commit.

Actually to be very honest, Christianity is a very self-serving faith. If I know that when I commit a sin, it will eventually hurt ME more than anyone else, why would I want to? The old battle with the flesh, I guess.

Anyway, I hope my words have conveyed my understanding of my faith, and, of course, being a Christian, I hope you will come to the same understanding.

When Christ was on the earth he established his church and gave the priesthood authority to his apostles. Due to the unbelief of the people and killing of the apostles, God took the priesthood authority from the earth until the world was prepared to have it again. God chose a young man (as he often did in Old Testament times) named Joseph Smith to be his prophet. He restored his church by giving Joseph Smith the priesthood and it was then passed on to others who believed in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Some may say that there is no need for a prophet in modern times. I believe a prophet is more necessary today than ever before to give us guidance and directions during this chaotic time.

Ha Ha.The only case I need to be concerned about is what God thinks of me.What good will it do to tell you anything. There is nothing to prove
to you or anyone else,as long as God is pleased with me.You are supposed to search out your own salvation with fear and trembling, but I'd say that that is a real turn off to you as it is with most people. Trash?Just saying the truth.

I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior!
Why?
Because He is the only one who died for me.
Because of Him, when my body dies I can go to heaven.
Because even though I mess up He still loves me and always will.
Because He gives me the chance to do right.
Because of Him I am free to do His will and no longer have to live for my ( flesh ) desires.
Because of Him I have peace, no matter what comes my way.
Because He is the true and living God, the air that I breathe, the food that I eat and the water that I drink.
Because He is the beginning and the end, the alpha and omega, the first and the last.
The one and only!

I follow Christ. I do it because God fought hard to get me to attend a church service in a Christian church where for the first time I heard that God loves me just as I am, sins and all and that God has already forgiven me for all my mistakes through Jesus' sacrifice all I have to do is open my heart and mind to God and receive it.

As I followed more It has become very clear that I am called to share this message with everyone I meet because there is not one who God did not create and love the same way God loves me.

Since the beginning of time man has been obsessed with immortality, fountain of youth and all that crap, we can't accept the fact that we are going to die and when we do...THATS IT!! So people make up religions so that they think they will have everlasting life
