Because it's the easiest way out. Most people just don't want to work hard to save their relationships. Either the relationships aren't worth the effort to them, or they're just lazy and refuse to accept responsibility?!

Christians aren't the only ones divorcing. Anyone of any faith is better off out of an unhappy or abusive marriage, or when there isn't love or respect for the spouse. Women in Jordan get gold jewelry from their future spouse to sell in the possible event of a divorce in the future - these are people marrying w/divorce in mind.

first, to the person who said all Chrisians are hypocrites - bite me. Another stereotypical answer...
second, I have not met any perfect Christian yet. That's why we all need Jesus. We are all a work in progress, being transformed from glory to glory.
Third, marriage is a change. Being a bacholar 35 years before getting married was a complete makeover. I got married early, had a kid before the year was over. Husband and dad in one year. It has been a learning process after all these years, and I will still learn.

That is an incorrect stereotype...
Committed Christians do their best to iron out their marital problems and to stay committed, faithful, and married for life.
Cultural Christians (who are not true followers of Jesus Christ) might do what you say above.
That is however true of people anywhere in the secular western world (and in parts of the rest of the world as well)...
Cordially,
John

It's not just Christians and the reason people think divorce is because society is making it acceptable. They make it seem normal to get a divorce.

Divorce is prevalent because it is legal, the easiest and the only way to separate. People now could readily file cases and divide their properties. In the end it is the children that suffers.

I'd say that's the last option, not the first. Who are you around that is claiming to be Christian that is teaching you this stuff?

Because it's better than the other religions' solutions. Jews sell their wives. Muslims behead their wives. Hindus feed their wives to a cow. Buddists aren't allowed to get married.

Sorry to disappoint ya but it isn't the first choice for all of us!! Maybe you think it is; cuz that's what happened to you? It is the easy way out, but if ya take a vow to God, I personally take it "till death do us part", and I live by that rule.

Not all Christians are like that. My husband is agnostic, and for him, that is the first thought. For me, I believe we should try to work it out.
It depends on the person.
Though maybe the first answerer is right and it's because murder is wrong, lol.

Since you are clairvoyant and can tell what millions of people think without even knowing them, would you mind doing a little work for me?
(It won't, however, include any accuracy-dependent surveys.)
