I believe it is harmful to your health. Obviously, you can drink nothing but aspartame soda for weeks and not get ill, but enough of it can cause memory loss and much more can cause death.

BAD. I'm allergic. Instant migraines. Avoid it if you can at all costs. It kills mice in labs!

You should be advised to stay away from aspartame, i.e., just don't buy the little packets and add it to your beverages yourself if you have another sweeter available to you like the latest and greatest--called Splenda--in the yellow packet. It is great, no after-taste, 400 times sweeter than sugar, but it is made from sugar and not some concoction of artificial chemicals like the rest. Most restaurants have it, but many won't put it on the table because customers will grab it up to take home with them. Just ask your waitress for Splenda. They can usually produce it. But you will find it at Wall-Mart (buy the largest box that costs a lot less than the little boxes). Enjoy!

Aspartame is nasty stuff. The individuals who are announcing "If it was unhealthy, the FDA would ban it" have without doubt now not learn up on fluoride. That stuff is evil and it is still accredited. Aspartame has ghastly side-results, honestly makes you crave carbohydrate, for this reason stuffing all possibilities of healthful, balanced consuming. The FDA base all of their trials on rats over a short period of time. It does no longer scan humans over a lifetime of use. Are you prepared to gamble your wellness? I know i'm not.

If I drink too much, I get a soar throat and a seriously runny nose. Almost like the flu. A lot meaning a gallon a day (I drink a lot). It usually takes two days or so to clear up. IF I drink an equivilant of water, I am fine, so it isn;t too much water, plus, I am very very active.
There are tons of studies, but in my opinion, none of them are conclusive. So my experience says yes, it is bad.

All I know is that basic life forms (mold) won't grow in it. That can't be good. If you leave a regular soda out overnight it will grow mold, even if you leave a diet soda out for weeks, it still won't grow mold. Apartame - bad.
