I don't think it was necessarily a matter of sheer intellegence as much as a matter of time and materials. The Wright brothers built their own knowledge on others failures. As far as Leonardo, sure he designed the invention, but never actually built one. I don't know that he "could've easily made" an operating glider or he would have.
One thing to consider is that mankind has generally had to deal with the problems at hand, before investing time into frivolous matters like flight. I'm sure humans have imagined flight since birds first flew, but its hard to worry about that when you are hungry. Or being hunted by a large predator. Or fighting a war to protect your village. Man has always had to balance the 'here and now' with flights of fancy for as long as we've had intellegence.

Man may have always been curious about flight, but it takes a good idea, the right materials, and the means to create an aircraft. Da Vinci partially had the first one, definitely had the third, but lacked the right materials.
Man was however successful in the 18th century with the invention of the hot air balloon. After that the glider and then of course the powered airplane came along. I think man is very intelligent when it comes to flight, but it takes time to get it all right.

Many have attempted to fly even before the Wright brothers. Gliders are in use for ages before Wright brothers & ballons where also used for fling during the same ages. The first successful powered flight was made by wright brothers. More over Invention of Engines to power the flights where invented only in the 18th century. The Mechanism of flight was mastered by birds due to evolution process & it would have taken many 100s of centuries for nature to perfect & give poor man has to also evolve. That is the reason for delay

Actually, many technological innovations and discoveries were required and new materials invented for it to be possible to fly efficiently. Even as science tries to progress, there were inssuficient man hours and materials, as well as ways to fasion and extract materials, and also limited resources. Good analytical question, but I do not believe in the Big Bang, I will not get into that with an aeronautics question.

Actually, the Chinese miss out on a lot of credit for inventing things. I'm putting my money on the ancient chinese for making a kite that could carry a person, or a hot air balloon.
But you are right - flight only having occurred in the last 100 years seems a bit unlikely. Maybe controlled, self-propelled flight from the ground up. Seems remarkable it has taken 60,000 years of civilisation for this.

No, i do no longer have that feeling. hence, i assume the plausible reality is both *We were no longer born with it, you're the only it truly is top, and therefor theists are incorrect for hating us for it as if it truly is a colour or handicap they don't like. or *it is purely a trick of the suggestions that some human beings are born with, ought to no longer be hated for, and some atheists already understand that. I actual have always been an truly feeling/sensing/gut feeling/intuitive style. If the feeling became there, i'd understand, yet i am going to quite allow you to understand that it is not any longer. Edit: i assume I ought to also upload that in assessment to lots of those who were raised with a faith and were once believers, i became no longer and performance under no circumstances believed.

no, the first flight was done by a long lost civilization approx. 9,500 years ago. their island submerged, engulfed by the ocean, but technologies beyond your wildest dreams can still be found there. the records of this civilization are located in a chamber under the left paw of the sphinx in Egypt.
