I need to know the name of a beach in the foothills of SoCal...I think its in the San Bernadino/Central Valley area...it was featured in a Southern California newspaper recently. It's in a small town and can only be reached via an underdeveloped road....and has small pools

Many newspapers have archives. You can find an old paper online or maybe in person. I used to do research using archived newspapers.
There are many beaches there so I am sorry I don't know exactly what you are talking about.

San Bernardino is neither on the coast nor in the Central Valley, so factor that out of your search.
