That is a small yahoo glitch .I'm sure they will have it fixed soon..Mine is doing the same

The yahoo mail keeps the new message thing on there for about a day so every new message is about a day I had the same thing and thought like you when I first got it.

im having the same problem, except it says i have 17 new mails, i suggest going to the help section and looking for a customer service email or something

yeah I think you should fix it. just go into advanced settings and deselect the option for it to alert you. You will never have the problem again. If you don't fix it there is a chance your computer may fry of even implode.

Mine is doing the exact same thing today! But anytime this has ever happened to me in the past, they always get it fixed. Glad to know it's not just me!

I have noticed the same problem. I have contacted yahoo, and received no response.

Mine does that every once and while. Usually it's a few pages back there's a random new e-mail, usually spam. So, if you have multiple pages try that.
