Silly I know..but I what to bring a curling iron with me to London from the US. What kind/brand/type and what else do I need to know. I know the US plug won't fit and I will need a converter....Trying to stay in style!

Samsonite makes a travel transformerr suitable for worldwide travel. It has a variety of plug converters and runs about $30. The type of curling iron doesn't matter. The converter takes the 220v electric in Europe and converts it so that your 110v curling iron doesn't melt. It will melt if you just use a plug converter without a transformer.

You'll be better off buying one there. If you use yours with a converter it may work but it will definitely damage your curly iron. I tired it in Hong Kong and burned my favorite Turbo hair dryer and in Spain I bought a converter to charge my digital camera; it worked but back in the states I had to buy a new charger...
