First find out which agency is responsible for issuing licenses in your state (department of transportation, department of motorvehicles, department of public safety, etc...the state police will certainly know the answer to that). Then call that particular agency, they will likely have a touch tone menu that will tell you what you want to know, or you can speak to a person.

You would have to go in person to the Department of Motor Vehicles. They would not give that information over the phone without checking your identification.
