Watch how he is around you. The words he says. Most of the time you can tell in the words. If you can get them to speak to you. Also when you are around him really search deep in your soul. How ever you really feel in your soul is true. Look way past lusts, likes search search for the godly love in your soul. Then go on that instinct. I have the same problem myself. Except the person that I really like is a christian and I would not want to risk that friendship. Until I'm a little more sure about my instinct.
