Personally I believe that a person, soul and body, are one, and therefore cannot separate. So when that person dies, so does his "spirit", his thoughts, everything. Non-existant at all. Better than eternal torment, isn't it?

Of religions, Buddism makes the most sense to me, but I grew up going to Catholic and Baptist churches - and currently don't go at all. Actually, what really makes the most sense of all to me about the afterlife is listening to people who have had near death experiences (been clinically dead for a certain amount of time and revived). The stories those folks tell give me great insight into what our purpose here and what things may come to us after this life is over.

i have self belief i will respond to those sorts of question, no longer that i will evidence it to you. I merely truly comprehend, from my memories with the non secular international, memories with God, and being reincarnated possibly more desirable than 3 situations that i comprehend of. i'm supplying you with an answer, and that i do not assume you to count number on me, because your nature gained't enable you to without shouldn't adventure it for your self, or experiencing what I have experienced. And none of my memories come from a board. i have self belief contained in the afterlife being reincarnation and heaven, because once you die, searching on your perception relies upon on what measurement you eventually end up in. inspite of the actual undeniable reality that you are able to go beyond or boost in time, to a more desirable measurement, heaven, in the different case the position, and yet you've the loose will to be reincarnated with the intention to study what you have not received by experiencing it, if it is your choose. God is genuine because no longer that I have continuously new it, because God's presence intrude to me, and He spoke to me. and a number of my kin that really got here decrease back and spoke the way it became and it also extra to my analyze. I have memories of two different previous existence situations, some memories I have continuously had and some became given to me by a spirit named Erica that i became in love with in our first existence jointly, she made herself time-honored to me to assist and practise guide me, we take turns as one yet another non secular practise guide because we've self belief and love one yet another like twin flames.

We die. Our bodies turn to dust. Our breath returns to God, Who gave it. Our consciousness is gone UNTIL Jesus comes and returns the breath of life to our re-created bodies and gives us our consciousness back. (Read the books of Thessalonians in the Bible. They explain it. Romans talks about it, too.)
