Don't misinterpret this response, but I don't think meth is the MOST addictive drug out there. It is extremely addictive to most people and I'm not trying to downplay that. However, in my opinion, heroin is far more addictive. The main difference is that heroin causes physical withdrawal symptoms that can make you so sick you honestly feel like you have no choice but to go and get more heroin. It really can feel like you are dying. Meth withdrawal has cravings and you are usually depressed, lethargic, and grumpy but it's mostly mental.

I saw the show about the Portland meth addicts. It's very sad that the addicts don't think anything is more important than the drug. It is very sad. I don't know what the appeal is, or why anyone would even want to try it once. It's got to be the most addictive, fastest spreading drug out there.

I always say the worst drug is the one you are using..but..
Meth is highly addictive. It is best to never try it.
look at www.notevenonce.com It is the Montana meth project PSA's.. they are very powerful. Watch them. It is a very safe site.
Also, Meth kind of builds a false front by making you think you can do more and be more than you are..then it grips you and takes you down..personally, socially, physically and more.
Some great Meth sites are www.drugabuse.gov
www.health.org
People do meth because it is cheap and gets them high.
It is a powerful drug because it works. It takes your brain to a high that is more than cocaine..but it is poison. ( and it can cost you your life ) Check also www.theantidrug.com, www.freevibe.com.. and STAY as far away from it as you can.
People from all races and socioeconomic levels have done meth.. but it is not our most widely used drug. Not everyone does it.
It has victims that never use..children and innocent recipients of its crimes.

If you've seen the "Faces" you know the story.
The addiction is one of the strongest out there because it acts directly on the brain circuity that governs reward and pleasure - and gives you endless energy.
Problem is our bodies aren't meant to operate like that for weeks on end. I am sure you can recover from a meth addiction but I suspect it has to be one of the hardest things a person could do.

I was hooked on meth for many years. The initial appeal was the 'buzz'. It gave you energy like crazy, you were awake, alive, you could get all kinds of things done! You were creative, you could write for hours, it was hard for your hands to keep up with your mind. After a couple years, it was just to keep alert enough to go to work. You no longer got anything done, you just started an endless number of projects. I actually quit meth because I wanted to quit smoking, and when I was speeding I was chain smoking like crazy. When I quit, I quit both cold turkey. I had to go to a hypnotist to help with the smoking, but it worked. I have been cigarette and drug free for 17 years now. On the downside, I've gone from 165 pounds to 285 pounds. One addiction at a time.

Meth really does give a person the feeling that they can do just about anything, and it makes you feel good about yourself, at the time. I've tried it here and there, but I do have the ability to turn it down, so I don't think it works on everybody the same.

I have seen that website too. Scary to see how meth messes people up. I personally have never tried it, thankfully. Meth is a very cheap high that is extremely deadly. I suggest that nobody tries it for the first time because if they do they may be hooked for life.
