It depends on whether they're enlisted, or officers (privates can make 400 dollars every two weeks, when an officer can make 2000 dollars every two weeks, there's no one answer because it all depends on which branch of military you are, what your promotion is, and if you're enlisted or officer.

If you were the one in the service or growing up in it, you would know it isn't enough- not even with the benefits. The risks and crap you have to put up with and the negative attitudes of so many just isn't worth it.
