Well..tuberculosis can be treated with high doses of Antibiotic and these have to be taken in 6 months time. But if TB is left untreated (depends on the severity of the case) it will still take years but only for the patient to suffer because it will make the person so weak and the bacteria will just keep on destroying the alveoli ( lungs ) causing him to cough out blood (hemoptysis). Why take the risk? Besides..if this is left untreated will be so contagious (you don't want other people to be infected too or else there could be an epidemic). Hope this helps.

If untreated,tuberculosis can survive depending on the patient's ration and physical abilities of each patient.The patient can be alive years after the infection,but if any added disease occur such as HIV/AIDS,the pronostic will be not good.

There are antibiotics that take care of TB now. Why would anyone leave it untreated...the agony of infection of the bone is unbelieveable...bad enough when you cannot breathe, but in the bones,.....sheer agony.
