In my younger and more silly days of my youth, I worked for a bails bondmen and did some bounty hunting.
It was in the 80's and the laws were alot more loose back then, we never failed to get our person.

No, but I've assisted a couple of them on pick-ups. Bounty Hunters in the United States are also called Bail Enforcement Agents. Basically they are hired by Bail Bond companies to track down people who fail to show up for court and the Bail Bond company is losing money as a result. Most Bounty Hunters make peaceful arrests, however in some states they have very broad powers of pursuit so long as you have an active warrant for skipping out on a court date. In Georgia, a Bounty Hunter can even forcibly enter a residence if they know for certain that the wanted person is located inside. The Bounty Hunters that I've met all carried guns, but none had actually had to shoot anyone. One of them had over 300 arrests to his credit and had shot his gun once but not actually at the person....they were warning shots and would have been followed up by real shots, but not all Bounty Hunters will necessarily react that way.
As for Bounty Hunters being very rough, that's usually not true. Most jails will not accept a prisoner who needs medical care beyond first aid because the liability is too high. If the jail refuses to accept the prisoner, then the Bounty Hunter (or arresting police officer) has to take their prisoner to the hospital and have the prisoner medically cleared.

Do creditors count? If so, yes. They even tracked down my parents. And it was over a $50 dispute.
