Some Nimrod said other services look down on Marines I am doubting if he was ever a soldier, I went Army and I reccomend Army OCS as there are many more oppurtunities than the Marines, Another non veteran nimrod said Marines can go to BUD/S WHY when you can be a Green Beret? BUD/S can come from any branch of the service as long as you join the Navy (Girls Branch, The Mens branch is called The Marine Corp). Only US Army can be Green Beret. Navy Seals makes movies Green Berets make War!

Just call both recruiter and ask the total number of job oppurtunities for both, more oppurtunities larger branch equals more oppurtunity for advancement. Marines whom I do respect are great at what they do....Protecting Ambassador's and Admiral's virginal daughters from horny Army grunts, They are great Warfighters when they are not gaudily attired roving guards.

In my opinion I think the Marine Corps has earned more respect throughout US history than the Army. Personally, though I was not a Marine I served with them, I would be a Marine officer. Pros and cons, I don't know enough about the Army to give you any.

Well Marines are looked down upon usually by the other 4 branches of the military, only they themselves believe they are the toughest, because the recruiters tell the jocks in high school that they will be the elite, and they're like "yeah man we rock" ... If you want to be a marine, and be a human shield for the army then you go ahead, but if you want to be apart of the land force of the military, you do that then. lol and no offense to the marines, its just friendly sibling rivalry.

I've been in both. I love the Army, but in my book a Marine NCO has it hands down over an Army officer. You'll still get your education either way. Semper Fi

Go with your gut.

The Army is more of a cross section of the general population. The Marines are all warriors.

Congratulations!!! My brother always wanted to be in the Marines, since he was born really. And now he is in the Marines and really enjoys it, but he also tells me it's very hard. It's been nearly 1'5 years for him now. He's been sent to Bosnia for 4months. He's just turned 20 and we all miss him, but I also know that he's doing what he's always wanted to do. It's his life! I just wanted to say Good luck! and follow your dream!

Army is easier. Air Force is better because its the officers who go into battle.

Go Marines, your education will span a broader spectrum and offer more opportunities such as BUDS. If, you do not know what that is, look it up and you will be intrigued.
