Much of Revelations is written in symbolic language and can be difficult to understand without using other clear passages of scripture to explain it.

We know that all scripture is inspired by God, so when we come to difficult passages we can use other simple passages to understand them.

2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is Godbreathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

In Matthew we find that the wars that happen all around us are a reminder to us that the end is near.

Mat 24:6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.
Mat 24:7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.
Mat 24:8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.

Mat 24:33 Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door.
Mat 24:34 I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.
Mat 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
Mat 24:36 "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

We recognize the end is near, but we do not know when that time will be, so we prepare ourselves for that day by trusting that Jesus has paid for our sins through his perfect life, suffering in our behalf, his death, and rose again to declare victory over sin, death, and the Devil. The Day of Judgement will be a triumphant day that we will begin to reign with Christ for all eternity in heaven.

Yep. It is the Beginning. If it stops temporarily or not, it is the beginning. Remember.........there will be a 7 year peace agreement signed. There will be peace for 3 1/2 years. don't let this fool you.

Now. something to ponder. Keep 2012 in mind for a minute. If there is a Peace agreement signed in the next 2 years with Israel, that could make 2012 fall in place.

The problem with religion "predicting" something so fundamentally unavoidable as the destruction of humanity is that people will cower at every unpleasant exchange of words, every rock falling from the sky, and everything even remotely resembling other unavoidable "predictions". Don't you worry your pretty little head about that. If the world is ending, there's nothing you can do about it anyway.

In my lifetime, Israel has initiated at least three major conflicts, so Israel starting "wars" is not a very reliable indicator of the "end" being "near."

jim darwin declares world war 3 has begun

1 Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals;[a] and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, “Come and see.” 2 And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.

No, it is not. Israel and Syria are not in a conflict nor is Lebanon. It is Hezbollah vs. Israel. Lebanon just happens to be where they are fighting.

Israel has been in so many wars over the last few years that were much larger than this one its hard to imagine that this will mark the end.

Jesus said "He that puts his hand to the plow and looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of Heaven". In other word's you have to count the cost of discipleship as a Christian. You have to ask yourself some serious heartfelt questions. Are you willing to forsake wealth, fame, and family to follow Christ? Are you willing to die to yourself daily, meaning are you willing to deny yourself earthly pleasures for the sake of Christ and His will for your life? Also are you willing to die for Christ? Can you honestly say to yourself that you would rather die than to not have Christ in your life? These are the costs everyone who calls themselves a Christian must answer. 1 John states that a Christian is not to love the world neither the things that are in the world......The lusts of the eyes, the lusts of the flesh, and the pride of life. For whosoever loves the world is an enemy of God. I don't want you to be an enemy of God. Please think about the cost of being a Christian. You must forsake yourself and die to yourself daily. Christianity is an impossible religion.........without Christ. But I also say to you "Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you". In other words, Christ is not calling you to be a monk, but He wants you to follow him wholeheartedly. If you do this you will have a spiritually blessed life that will not end on your physical death but will continue on in eternity. The Kingdom of Heaven starts today.
