Does a registered dog have to have a series of shots after having a mixed litter. Say that a Shitzu the registered dog which is female, and the rat terrier is the male. After she gives birth to the litter does she have to have a shot to be cleaned out?

No. Once the puppies are born, the sperm from the male dog are long dead. Her next litter will be purebred, if you breed her to another Shih tzu.

No. I have raised many litters of pups and the vet doesn't do this. If he thinks there still may be pups inside or unpassed afterbirth, then yes he would give her oxytocin to clean them out.

Oxytocin is not given unless needed, only if there is a retained puppy or placenta. Seems to me it used to be given "just in case", but not so much anymore. Being purebred or mixed breed has nothing to do with it.
