I know I should not be sarcastic- but it is REALLY REALLY hard here! why is it that at least half the people in this country missed the part of the Davinci code book where it said , CLEARLY- that it was a total work of fiction?!!!?!?!?!?!
Whereas the Bible, written by at least 40 differetn men over a couple of thousands of years time span, yet, flows harmoniously and has had much of it proven historically is in question?!?!?!
WHAT is wrong with this picture ?!?!?!

The Da Vinci Code

I think u would be wrong by betting on the BIBLE as fiction. The Bible is the word of GOD as we know it today, or at least it is for most people.
The Da Vinci Code is a movie taken from a novel written by an author name Dan Brown who just cashed in on Hollywood's fascination with mysteries.
I haven't seen the movie, so I will keep my opinion of what I think of this movie to myself till I've had a chance to watch it.****

lol... well, considering that, in order for the Da Vinci Code to NOT be fiction, then the bible would also have to be fact.

And, as the da vinci code was a book made up by a hack writer, with no real talent anyway... I'm gonna have to go with da vinci code as fiction.

According to the library, the Bible listed as Non-fiction (fact) and the Da Vinci Codes is listed as fiction (not fact).

Dan brown is basically a conspiracy theorist that set his theories in a fictional novel.

One of the many false points he made in his book that it was supposed to be Mary in the painting of the last supper. However, it was the apostle John portrayed in the painting. Because of the fact that John had feminine qualities it was speculated that it was supposed to be Mary...however upon looking at DaVinci's sketch he named everyone and low and behold it says John. Also the artistic style of that era was to portray yonger men with a feminine quality. So it was merely going with the style

The bible has been around for thousands of years and has gone through such microscopic scrutony and still yet the rest of the world has been unsuccessful in proving it being fake or wrong that it's not going to happen. You have over 20 authors, ranging from Shepherds, to doctors, kings, tent makers, homeless people, priests and so on, all coming from different parts of the world and these letters were written in the span of several thousand years. All of the writings coming together cohesively without error is a human impossibility. Get a doctor from California, a construction worker from New York, a priest from India and a house wife from Japan to write on one subject within a 2 year period and nothing would be cohesive...but somehow this book known as the bible kept everything together, content and context.

They found the dead sea scrolls and what was written on papyrus was exactly the same as to what we read today. An impossible work of fiction. There is no way that all these different could have orchestrated that without effing it up...yet Dan Brown made a lot of claims that he couldn't back up in one little book he wrote.

Well, both have fictitious stories. Everything is mostly symbolic. In the Da Vinci Code it is all a theory and don't forget, was written by a author who writes fictitious novels. The bible as well. Some stuff in the new testament may bear facts. But like I said the Bible is symbolic.

Both, sort of. The Da Vinci Code is fiction. Made controversial because some of the plot devices are possibly real, or claimed to be real.
The Bible might have a bit of historical fact in it, but it is largely parable. Stories that have been passed down for ages. Even the big ones-Genesis, Adam & Eve, the Flood, etc...can be shown to have their roots in far older stories.

The Da Vinci Code (both film and book) is an utter waste of time and breath. I can make better stories than that. And yes it is Fiction...the hack Dan Brown said so himself.
As for the Bible (and for that matter any holy book) is mostly allegorical...though much of the New Testament has been based on facts.

Yup...youre succeeding in riling up the Christian community buddy.
