Sorry but despite what old wives tales that we've all heard, the only thing that is gonna make that baby come before it's ready is a trauma to the baby or uterus. Now I am pretty positive that you don't wish for any trauma of any sort, so the only thing you can do is wait for the baby to decide that she/he is ready to meet the world. I know that you are ready to meet your baby, and show him or her off to the world, but really don't rush it, it will happen when it is suppose to. besides like everything else, it will happen when it is most inconvenient. That is what happen with me, we were at the car dealership buying a new car, and my water broke a month early! Lets just say the car had to wait, and we got flowers from the dealership, they even took the time to find out what we had and sent the appropriate color of flowers balloons. It was nice, but embarrassing and I just happy it happened be for I sat in the new car!

A good long walk helped with both my labors, and some rough 4WD driving. Also an internal exam by your doctor helps as well. Otherwise, it is just a matter of time - don't be in too much of a hurry, 'cause once the baby is here the hard work begins!

okay try going for long walks or bumpy rides, even sucking on a cup of ice while you are in bed may help. doctors told me that you shouldn't drink castor oil. but i'm not sure why. i was 4cm dilated for about 3 weeks and my son came two weeks late and i tried sex and that didn't work for me. although i was induced the nurses gave me a cup of ice which helped speed up the process. just keep active

Oh honey! I know you want to get things going, but enjoy these last few days (hours?!) of peace! Get some sleep and reflect on the past 9 months. Your life will never be the same after!! If you're gonna try, have some Raspberry leaf tea or try bending over at the waist to force pressure on your belly - my aunt bent over to pick up an orange peel and she popped. Good luck and contrats!!

If you're full term, you can do the following:
1. Have sex
2. Walk around a lot (but don't overdo it)
3. Practise relaxation techniques like yoga
4. Drink one cup of chamomile tea in the morning, it can cause spontaneous contractions.

Wait patiently. Your body and your baby will know when it is time.

If you are uncomfortable, try doing some pelvic rocking.

Go get a massage or a chiropractic adjustment to put your body in balance. (Especially if you can find a massage therapist who does cranial sacral therapy.) It will make you feel much better and will make labor easier when it comes.

Go swimming or soak in a deep tub so that you are weightless for a while...it will make you feel better.

You can use Evening Primrose Oil to help ripen your cervix. You can take them orally or you can put them inside you near your cervix.

Walk, walk walk!!!!! I was dialated also, and I just wanted it over with. So I took 10-15 min. walks. At least 2 an hour. That worked for me. I hope it works for you.

Have you tried nipple stimulation? This is supposed to cause contractions and bring on labor...but I'm not sure how safe it is and you have to do it for a LONG time. And, who really wants to sit and play with their nipples all day?
