Yes, very, highly likely and possible. The message may still be okay, but the details are muddled - it was all written by humans. It's in our nature to change things and interpret things differently.
I have been saying this for years.

I think that's definately what has happened...
Wasn't the first testament just a few pages of 'guidelines' of how to live your life in a good/honest way to get the most out of it?
Who made it into a freakin novel?! Now it's become this huge controlling power thing... the religion seems to be based on fear more than anything else... it's not longer 'do this if you want to live an honest and fulfilling life...' now it seems like 'do this... or else!'
It's like any 'story' - have you ever heard a story about something from one person and then heard the same one from another person... and though they're the same, both seem completely different because each person has hyped it up in their own little way?
I think that's what happened with stories of 'jesus' - they were told by SO many different people... it's like it was a huge game of chinese whispers! By the end of the line... the story was no where near the same as it was when it began!
Anyways... that's just some of what I think!

The bible has been translated thousands of times. Added to and taken away from maybe even more times. Then at the Council of Nicea, the bible was picked through by some men who decided what SHOULD be in it. The problem is that the bible says it self to not change it in any way. Why would it say that? And why would christians and the like believe it after history proves it has been changed?
My bet is that THAT statement was added in later. If you look at the repressive way of life they had at the time, you will see that it was considered heracy to change it or to say that there was no god. Which brings me to believe that the entire book is one giant scare tactic to control people.
Religions is opium for the masses.

The Bible is the inspired word of God. The only true and living God-Jehovah. There were things left out that He wanted left out and things put in that He wanted in. It is probably the reason the people who have written, followed and live by it are the only 'religous' group of folks to be persecuted for it. The Bible says that "The fear (reverence) of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge but fools despise wisdom and discipline." Proverbs 1:7 So, what does that tell you about some of these other folks?

There is proof that things have been altered over time, all of the different versions. The versions all have at least small differences. Some versions have sections missing because they were completely thrown out. That is why people should not be absolute when it comes to the Bible. Believe what you choose to and let others believe what they choose to.

Arguing about the Bible is like arguing about Mother Goose's stories. Totally irrelevant.
Only dumbasses with less than 3 grams of brains will readily believe all the crap that's in that piece of shitty print.
It doesn't even entertain! It's sooo boring!!
I'd say the best thing about it is how it helps us make fun of those sheepish biblethumpers that post here. I wonder why the most pious people seem to be the angriest always!

a spoken story can take on different aspects as it passes from one person to another but the written word of God was not lost in translation, it was translated to the very best accuracy by king James. if i remember right it seems like it took him 5 to 7 years to get it perfect. most other bibles after that changed things to suit them and cannot give a reader the whole truth. most of the other authors died mostly from suicide after publishing them.

That is true in most cases. Not so with the Bible. King James made absolutely sure when it was being copied that nothing was changed in any way.
