This situation has dropped my beacon scores about 18 points and now I'm mad about this so I'm thinking about not getting the car. But I almost feel obligated to buy the car because my scores fell so much and it may take years to raise them back up. Can I do anything about this? How can they get away with doing that?

Request that they remove all but one.

If they don't - then file a dispute with the credit bureaus as duplicate pulls. Try dealing with the company before you dispute with the bureaus as it's always possible if you dispute inq's you may find them slap a fraud alert on your reports. So, save doing disputes with the bureaus until after you talk to the loan company.

It doesn't take years for an inquiry to have no effect. They start losing their effectiveness around 6 months and have no bearing on your scores at 1 year.

I know that is not much solice for what the company did. But, car dealers, loan companies and mortgagers etc all seem to love to pull multiple inq's.

If they ran your credit that many times in 14 days or less it should only count as one pull because you have the right to shop around for a car loan
it is the same for mortgages
you can raise your score quickly by going to a get it now store and buying something anything doesn't need to be real expensive but make the payments stretch out over 6 months we raised our score 50 points by doing this before it was even paid off and make all payments on time

You could try to dispute it with the credit bureau. Let them know what happened and they make the proper amendments to your beacon score.
