FAQ: Why different testaments and books in the Word?
"As regards the Word particularly, it has existed in every age, though not the Word we possess at the present day. Another Word existed in the Most Ancient Church before the Flood, and yet another Word in the Ancient Church after the Flood. Then came the Word written through Moses and the Prophets in the Jewish Church, and finally the Word written through the Evangelists in the new Church. The reason why the Word has existed in every age is that by means of the Word there is a communication between heaven and earth, and also that the Word deals with goodness and truth, by which a person is enabled to live in eternal happiness. In the internal sense therefore the Lord alone is the subject, for all goodness and truth are derived from Him" (Arcana Coelestia n. 2895).

In essence, almost any religion can be considered a delusion, because we have no way to consistently proof its reality in physical existence.
The thing about Christianity is that it's the one accepted by the masses, same as the other religions were at previous times in the world, so - Christians feel that they have a right to pressure the rest of the world to accept their reality. If it's another religion that many people belong to - they can't call the person "crazy" but they threaten his or her soul with damnation, despite preaching brotherly love (or, some Christians do anyway). If the person belongs to a lesser known or singular spiritual faith, they can be hunted in a more "delusional" labeling themselves, persecuted perpetually for not accepting the mainstream delusion.
But, yes - Christians could be considered delusional.
Best thing is to accept your own reality, in spirituality or atheism or whatever else it might be, as your OWN personal delusion.
David Hume (Scottish philosopher, predecessor to Immanuel Kant) thought that all of reality exists only in our own heads. It's a little far fetched and lacks the sound logic to back up reasoning in a few loopholes - Kant explained a more interesting phenomenon later - but, it's a way to look at things.
In a sense, we all are. But, in that sense - we're all god too, because the world would then be created in our heads. Look into it - it'll intrigue you.

Why do people choose to trash something that they don't like or understand? What is it that makes them waste their time by trying to make others feel foolish, even though they are the ones being laughed at? Why do they choose to believe that just because people have never met someone, than that person never existed or was delusional? Why do they blindly think that others are delusional even though they may have a miserable life, and spend time trying to ridicule others and their beliefs.
Why do they spend time telling others that they need proof to believe in something, when they don't have proof to back up their facts otherwise?
Perhaps if they had a happy, fulfilling life, they wouldn't need to belittle others and would accept that Jesus did exist and their foolish little arguments aren't enough to change the minds of His followers.

Scientists put forth many theories to explain 'everything'. These theories cannot be tested as they require technology that tests the very limits of the physical universe. If you want to accept these 'tangible' explanations, then you must bestow faith at some point.
What is the difference in placing faith in Super String theory or the latest GUT vs Christ, or Allah, or any other religion. It all comes down to that for all recorded history, humans have sought an explanation for existence.
If none of the theories can be proven and require some level of blind acceptance, does it really matter which one is chosen as long as they gain some measure of peace from it?

Neither. And I never blindly follow anything or anyone. There is tangible evidence for much of the Bible - it's just that this information is not being disseminated as effectively as the half-truths and lies that are being tossed about as facts.
Who sounds more delusional - someone who has seen the solid evidence of faith and the power of faith to change lives for the better, or a joker who refers to a fictional fairy called Giggles?

You have blind faith that God doesn't exist, nothing blew up and created matter, matter decided to multiply, start swimming, grow legs, walk out on land, and diversify into billions of different life forms with not a single solitary transitional fossil found.
I believe an all-knowing, all-loving creator made you and me. But my blind faith can't hold a candle to yours. You have the faith of a saint, my friend!!

Well, the un-dead, zombies that is, eat brains. Since Jesus Christ is a zombie, well, it seems like he ate the brains of millions of dumbfounded dipshits, quoting from TOOL.
Hence the foolish proclivity to believe blindly whatever these dummies are fed.

Chances are the we, followers of Jesus may be delusional. We gave Jesus the worst treatment a great master usually gets: to have disciples. The disciples tend to be more strict than their masters. Christians, marxists, muslims, buddhists, all of us tend to outstage Jesus, Karl Marx, Mohammed, Gautama perhaps to impress them. I wonder if they would love to have us in their respective heavens.
