I told myself that God had forgotten me...
After a lifetime of pain and nights filled with loneliness
He had no one for me to love
Just move on, it will be ok.
And then I met you.
I knew it was all wrong,
But I looked into your beautiful eyes... and I let you in...
Into my heart, into my family, into my home.
You gave me hope when I had none.
A second chance.
You took my hand and let me think about
A life with a man who will always love me ...

I think it's a beautiful start. You definitely know how to express yourself! I love poetry and am actually working on a book.

My advice: Expound on the life you will have with this man. Tell him how else he makes you happy. The things you would do to return his love. Make it a little longer with interesting details! And on a professional note.. be careful about putting your poetry out there. Intellectual property is the easiest to steal. Hold your poems close like you would a child!! Again..excellent beginning! I'll be looking for the rest!

Remember when writing a poem, although it doesn't have to rhyme, it should have a rhythm.
