It really depend. From my personal experience, I take martial arts class, but I have never have any trouble study in school. I even still always get the best math grade in my class. But I also observe that some other have quite difficulty in class.
My suggestion is try to take the martial art class, when you feel overwhelmed just quit your training

maybe Tae Kwon Do will help you focus
if not, it won't take too much time away from schoolwork. Don't be afraid of high school! It's going to be stressfull and the teachers will say "you're not in middle school anymore" all the time, but you can still do plenty of stuff outside of school. Get involved! I'm in like 10 clubs

Actually I think for the most part doing outside activities will help you keep centered and keep "life" in perspective. After all high school in not everything.
On the other hand it depens on your classes and other extracurricular activities.
Really its all up to you. If you are able to manage your self and your time well and succeed at both though will be a definate plus for futures things for instance if you plan to get a job or take advanced classes or even for college ect.
