Well by getting a little to close to him you probably gave him a little sign that you could've liked him(even though you didn't). The best thing you can do is try to explain to him that you have no feelings whats so ever for him, and that your feelings only go to the boundaries of friends....

I've been in your shoes before and believe me when i say "walk softly". After a little while and bad relationships I always turned to my friend who I liked but never really liked liked and started to see him in a different way. Eventually I took the plunge and we ended up "shagging" in his car. We both ended up stopping and decided that we couldn't go there, it would ruin our friendship. Needless to say it put a huge void between us. Three days later he caught a plane and I haven't seen him since though we still chat online. Approach the situation wisely and keep your head on straight, there are dire consquences to crossing lines.

No, you told him flat out that you dont want to date and that you only like him as a friend. There is his answer. If you have a bad day again, friends are suppose to be there for you...a shoulder to cry on...if he cant do that without thinking you want him as more than a friend then that is his issue to deal with

you need to be very carefull if you know that this person is just dying to try to be with you he will more than likely get his hopes up if their is any sudden change in the time you may spend together or how your actions are on a certin day we all need to be held and told things are ok sometimes but it's very hard for someone that wants so much more than you may to understand the meaning of a good friendship in hard times.

Yes, you make sure there is a bold line between friends and intimate relationship. If you dont have feelings for him you need to tell him because you are leading him on terribly.

You already gave mixed signals. Can't really help you any further though. I've never done something that would hurt one of MY friendships like that..........

You think? You just used your friend because he was convenient, thinking nothing of the fact that you knew he had feelings for you. You got your ego stroked, and he got...what?
