people are doing this in the uk today i have spoken to 2 "breeders" 1 in essex 1 in northumberland, sent me pics of them with the pups looks very genuine again after talking to them about the pups they started talking about shipping from newcastle airport to plymouth airport rather than me picking up also for deposit upfront obviously i have now wised up to this and wouldnt buy without seeing pups home 1st. this is the 1st experience of scamming to sell pups never heard of puppy farms and awful stuff like that, call me naieve. i had found breeders who are also scamming on www.classifides.co.uk which is just like advertising in your local paper so i thought it would be ok,and even people doing it in the uk!!

I saw websites selling dogs that could be shipped any where in the world. I would never buy a dog like that that is cruel. Go to a shelter.

Nigeria is well known for these kind of scams!!

Whatever you do, DON'T go to a pet shop, a flea market or buy one sight-unseen off the Internet!!!! You'll pay top dollar for what is usually a poor quality puppy mill dog. And you'll be supporting one of the cruelest industries in the country. The breeding animals are often kept in deplorable conditions - spending their entire lives in small wire-bottomed cages. They probably haven't been vaccinated against contagious diseases or tested for any health or temperament problems or genetic diseases - that costs money and cuts into their profits. A female is often bred every time she comes into heat. When her poor little body can't take it any more, she is often clubbed in the head and tossed into a dumpster or an open ditch. Most puppy mills ship their pups to pet stores at wholesale prices and many pups die before they even get there.

These so-called "breeders" have now figured out that they can use the internet to ship a dog directly to the customer and thus make more money by cutting out the middleman. If you buy a dog from out of state, good luck getting your money back if there's something wrong with the pup. These people count on you becoming instantly attached to the poor little guy and being willing to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars at the vet to treat whatever is wrong with him.

Find a good breeder by going to www.akc.org (in the USA) or talking to people at dog shows. You can also find info about the breed clubs on the akc site - they probably have a rescue group where you can get an older dog for less money. The best breeders will be members of their breed club, promoting healthy dogs with great temperaments. They should ask you a bunch of questions to make sure their puppy will be getting a good home. If all a "breeder" seems to care about is whether your check will clear, you can be sure he won't care a week later when the pup is dying from distemper or parvo and you want your money back.

People need to be aware of these scams. They do the reverse thing to, answer online ads for puppies and want them shipped out of the country. They send a money order for more than the sales priced and want you to send them the difference. It is crazy that people will fall for these scams but they do.

They do this with other things too, not just dogs, or animals. Buyer or seller beware.

Places like this are called puppy brokers. Any time you see ads for many kinds of pups available, they are puppy mills or puppy brokers or something and people should not buy from these kind of places.

Yup. Cameroon is among the essential scamming areas. Fowl scams appear to be standard there. On no account conform to ship a canine. I won't even do this for an AKC reputable breeder considering the fact that of the stress on the dog.

Why don't people read up on animals before they go ahead and buy them ??
You should have checked if they could fly before you parted with your money and before you were going to put them through a horrific ordeal of flying, which can not be nice for them.
Why not go to a breeder who is kc reg and who you know has looked after the puppies and ones you could have seen with their mother. When they come from over seas you know nothing about them apart from what you have been told.
Good for you for letting people know tho

Yup. Cameroon is between the major scamming factors. chook scams look conventional there. under no circumstances comply with deliver a dogs. I received't even attempt this for an AKC respected breeder as a results of strain on the dogs.

after searching for two weeks for a bulldog we could have been scamed a total of 3 times if we were naive, please be aware one seller in london will tell you they have moved to Cameroon and you wire him £350 deposit and then you will have your puppy in 6 hours.we have all the details, name and false address,if in doubt we will let you know the details DON'T TOUCH THIS **** WITH A BARGE POLE.it may be more expensive only use a recomended breeder.

This is bollocks, pets have to be quarantined before they can even step out onto a country's soil. No business would survive where its credentials are shaky at best and its product can't be accessed for at least 3 months.

I Feel really sorry for you, not the money (which is also bad) but the dissappointment of your own idea of your little puppy and the preparations you must have made for its arrival.

and WELL DONE YOU for having the required steel to stand up and finger point this site to all who read your letter.
