The Answer to your question, Finally! If you want to gain muscle mass you need to increase you protein intake. Roughly 1.5grammes of protein per lb of your body weight.
The BEST PROTEIN in an easy digestable way is a Powder called MET-RX available in a variety of flavours, has the highest quality protein, lowest in cabs and fat and available from most gyms. Also great is Tuna in spring water, not oil etc you'll end up spotty otherwise. Boiled chicken breast max 2 per day. Then you will need cabs best sources are boiled rice and boiled pasta. if you want to keep lean be careful on your intake of cabs you dint want to get too bloated. There is quite alot to the diet of bodybuilding, more than what the average person thinks. I SUGGEST you really need to get to your local gym (Not fitness centre) BIG BOY GYM and ask the instructor could he devise a plan for you in training and diet.
GOOD LUCK!! The Summers here!!

Your body needs between 40 and 55 grams/day according to the Vegetarian Society (see reference).
Amino acids from protein in excess of requirements are metabolised; deamination (second reference) produces an amine group which enters the urea cycle and an oxoacid group which enters the TCA cycle so generates ATP.
Overall then, there is no point in eating too much expensive protein, nor bodybuilders and the like consuming protein shakes, since the excess is converted into urea (lost in urine) and into energy (ATP). Further, if the energy is not needed at that time then instead of being respired (to ATP) it is converted into adipose tissue - fat. You could get fat if you eat too much protein.

Your body does not care where the protein comes from - entrecot steak, earthworm omelette, smoked salmon, nuts, or even a protein shake.
Your body does care that you get a complete range of amino acids (the components of proteins) - especially the 8 called essential amino acids which your body must get from food (the others can be made by altering those you have eaten).
The essential Amino Acids are: lsoleucine, Leucine, Lysine, Methionine, Phenylaianine, Threonine, Tryptophan and Valine.
The non-essential Amino Acids are: Alanine, Arginine, Asparagine, Aspartic acid, Cysteine, Glutamic acid, Glutamine, Glycine, Histidine*, Proline, Serine and Tyrosine.
* Histidine is essential for babies but not for adults.
The best source of a full range of all the amino acids is meat.
Look on the container of a protein shake - do you really want those additives? Does it contain all the amino acids you need?
As long as you are eating sufficient protein in a normal balanced diet your muscles will grow if you exercise them.

N-Large II is a powerful mass gaining formula designed to pack size on the hardest gainers. This potent formula delivers more calories and protein gram for gram. Prolab puts an emphasis on the amount of protein per serving since it is the only nutrient proven to assist in promoting muscle mass.

I don't know which protein drinks help you gain "mussels". These are bivalves that are best steamed with garlic and butter sauce.

Anything nice and warm after you have been clambering over the rocks to collect your mussels. It has to be something that garlic goes well with.

You mean muscle....?
Unless you are a competitive athlete or bodybuilder, don't waste your money, most people already eat way too much protein. They will only make you fart (and fat).
