When I was in the Army, I was always ok for the morning physical training, until it came time to finish our company run. Everytime, when we went from running to marching, I'd have to fall out and throw up off to the side. I finally went on sick call about something else, but while I was there, I asked the doctor what I could do to stop that from happening. I wasn't eating ANYTHING before our PT, and the doc said, "Half a peanut butter sandwich will stop the vomiting." And she was absolutely right.

She said, "You need carbs before a workout." I would suggest a cheese sandwich, peanut butter, anything with heavy carbs just before a workout.

I workout in the mornings (or did before I hurt my foot). Regardless, since it was the morning, I ate eggs and bacon before I worked out. Afterward, I'd eat carbs like hash browns. The protein before the workout gave me energy and the carbs after held me over until lunchtime in the afternoon. Hope this helps!

really shouldnt eat anything until after the workout...your metabolism will still be up there and the calories will burn...if thats the objective...otherwise try some lowfat peanut butter with a few saltines
