Well I am a 32 degree Mason and a Shriner. Masons & Shriners give away alot of money to charities. Masons to Drug and Alcohol prevention. (hence no drinking in blue lodge) Shriners to crippled kids, with or with hospitalization (free), can go to one of their well known hospitals. There really isn't anything secretive about the fraternal organization. Everything can be researched going back to King Soloman's Temple. People just seem to like conspiracies and mysteries.

The Freemasons are so secret because they secretly rule all of the politics in america and are the richest people in america.
Knights Templar fell. As did the Order of the Dawn, thanx to Aleister Crowley, who was also a Freemason. They practice evil magick, (At the uppermost levels of Degree, they aren't just going to have someone attend that isn't bound to never speak of the evils...) and basically rule everything. The Freemasons began in Germany, maybe the 1400's, then they were known as the Steinmetzen, or stone masons. They had the skills to make a whole lot of money, and eventually grew to be what it is today- corrupt and secret. Look on the back of a one dollar bill, the pyramid you see? That's the All-Seeing Eye. That's a masonic symbol. Don't ask me where their power comes from, (except maybe DEMONS) Skull and Bones? (A secret subsect of the upper-level Freemasons, found in the Ivy League schools..) Our President is a member. Don't really know about the shriners though. Research this.

My opinion and intuition is that there is something really dark surrounding Masons and Nights Templar. Being near any of their buildings gives me the chills.

I'm not sure about the Shriners. They do a lot of great things for the community and children's hospitals. Their secretive rituals make me a little suspicious, but at least they are involved in the community and serve it.

I don't think I would want any of my family to be involved with any of these organizations.

In Masonry, only our ritual Lodge work is secret. Nothing else. We are men deicated to good living by using the working tools of actual masons as metaphors for actions in life. To stand on the level and plumb, circumscribe our passions, and square our actions.
The Knights Templar ceased to be hundreds of years ago.
The Shriners have even less secrets..Look up the Shriners Hospital for crippled children

As a teenager, I was involved in a Masonic youth group, and nothing whatsoever was done that would violate anybody's sense of ethics and decency. I've undergone multiple "secret society" initiations, and again, nothing very unusual was done, unless you count the ritual itself as unusual. There are no sinister, bizarre secrets being kept. Don't believe everything you hear on late-night TV shows. The Freemasons are a very generous group, and have donated many millions of dollars to charity. My main gripe with them isn't secrecy, but rather, their continued refusal to admit women on an equal basis, and merely relegating them to "adoptive" orders. Some groups, like Co-Masonry and Le Droit Humain initiate women into Masonry, but these groups aren't approved by the main body of Freemasons.

I strongly suggest you avoid any secret society. Nothing good comes from hiding in the dark. If you want to make friends and be part of a civic group, join the Jaycees, the Rotarians, The Lions Club, etc.. They all do great things and will fulfill your sense of belonging without hiding in the dark.

I have Albert Pike's book "Morals and Dogma" in front of me right now. On page 582 it states, "The Soul that is impure, and sinful, and defiled with earthly stains, cannot again unite with God, until, by long trials and many puifications, it is finally delivered from the old calamity, and Light overcomes Darkness and dethrones it, in the Soul".

This is a denial of Christ's atonement on the cross and is the essence of the false doctrine that you can (must) EARN your way to heaven. It is the exact opposite of what Jesus says!

The cover page in the book says, "ESOTERIC BOOK, FOR SCOTTISH RITE USE ONLY; TO BE RETURNED UPON WITHDRAWEL OR DEATH OF RECIPIENT.

I think if you wish to belong to them than fine. Many of the forefathers of this nation were Masons. Where I live all those groups are very community active and do a lot for charity.

I am a Christian Pastor and a Mason.
I have never felt a conflict between the two.
One is my Faith.
The other is a brotherhood.
The secret is there is no secret.

I think it's awesome that they were able to hide all of those clues in the Declaration of Independence and stash all the world's treasures under that Church cemetary!!! Cool glasses.
