*I'm majoring in Marketing as a sophomore in college, but only because my parents majored in the same thing, and wanted me to follow in their footsteps.
*I'm really creative, talented, and attractive, and would prefer to go into the entertainment business
(but only if there are stable, high paying jobs available)

Any Advice??

I'd love some good suggestions...thanks!

I went to college for a short time for what my mom wanted me to do. The more I got into college the more I realized I wanted to do something I've always been good at. So I changed my major. Second nothing is a guarntee you would just have to go for what you love and find a job that you will like.

There are always high paying jobs in any field, but just as there is in life, there are no guarentees you will get one no matter what you have. You really need to find what you want/like to do in life, and follow that dream and let no one stand in your way. Nothing comes easy in life for anybody, but if you want something, take a risk, if you really want something bad enough you will risk everything. Since you are still young it is advisable to try things now and once you find something that you are good at, love doing it and have fun at it, you will be successful and the money will follow. This is something you and only you can figure out so do some inner searching and Im sure you will come up with something that has you written all over it. Live your life for yourself, as you are the one who has to put up with you for the rest of your life, and follow no ones footsteps, cause it may not be you. Follow your dreams! Good luck

I hated marketing... It seemed that all cuthroat, money hungry, get rich quick nuts filled the majority of the good jobs...My peers were having heart attacks and family problems in their 30's...

I went into law enforcement and used my marketing skills as a public relations officer and have made a fantastic living... $70k a year is not too shabby and I have carte blanche in my approach to creative design, direction and strategy...

As the department head I have virtually no competition and very little stress...

The leisure calling is a few thing you should reconcile for your self. i'd under no circumstances propose nor discourage absolutely everyone from in search of that route. better than in all probability you're able to have a crappy interest for decades (assistant, intern, mail room, and so on) you'd be abused (hint: if you're not from now on being abused you're in a bypass-nowhere interest) if you're contained in the right position on the right time you should get a good interest. it isn't a meritocracy, connections and crafty rule. make positive you study: William Goldman, and all the different tutor biz books. damage a leg!

I would seek out ways to combine these two. Movies have to be marketed as well as albums, TV shows, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

Why not the best of both worlds? Open a rep agency.
