First of all, once you get past a certain age, you aren't as wierd about it while you're on your period. You just eliminate some of the "moves". Also, you just lay a big towel down to save the sheets.

But, there are some "internal cups" that can be used that catch the flow. I'm not sure what they're called, but I hear they work quiet well.

since you are obviously sexually active and do not want to stop that activity during your period, you might consider the Depo injections. They are a progesterone only injection that you take every 12 week (about 4 times a year), so you never have to worry about birth control, plus they tend to completely stop the periods. I took it for 10 years and never had a period. This is NOT harmful to the body and menstrual blood does not "build up" as some people mistakenly think. Estrogen builds up the lining, but with the Depo shots, the progesterone in it won't allow the lining to build up. I thought it was great, and its side effects are no different from any other hormone based contraception. The advantages are not having to remember to take it every day and NO PERIODS!!

if you're currently on the birth contol pill, you can skip your 'inert' tablets (the sugar pills) and go straight to the first active tablet of your next pack = this generally results in skipping your period - but not always. Sometimes (I'm speaking from experience) you end up with bleeding a couple of weeks later - in my case it lasted 3 weeks.

If you're not on the pill, there's nothing you can do or take to suppress your period. It's better to try and work around it...just don't go doing it a week to 10 days after your period ends - that's when you ovulate, which means you'll have a HIGH chance of pregnancy.

There's nothing wrong with having sex while you're on your period. It seems like everything is more sensitive then, to me.

Swimming in cold water helps mine stop. Or when I shower. It's hard to stop your period.

You can't stop it until it is ready to stop itself. And sex will just make it bleed more

nothing, but you could use that time to practice self-control and increase conversation for a more intimate relationship, it might be the only time you have to do this each month.
