The size of a kitten helps, although they grow fast. Around four weeks and under you can pick them up with one hand and that will be the entire cat. They are mostly grown around nine months, though they can continue to grow for two years. However, runts are smaller than the norm and some cats (and specific breeds) are larger. Kittens have their baby fur until they are about two months old or so. Baby teeth are not as sharp as adult teeth. It does not hurt nearly as much to be bit by a kitten as it does by a cat. Cats will nurse or drink formula until they are two to three months. (Or as long as you let them. They like things like that.)

Good luck with your cat.

The adult teeth usually begin to appear at about 4 months of age with the adult canines or "fangs" among the last to erupt at about 6 months of age.

The weight of a 5 or 6 month old kitten varies- usually between 4 and 6 pounds.

The first heat cycle can occur anytime between 6 and 9 months of age, on average. Many veterinarians prefer to perform an ovariohysterectomy (spay) while a cat is not in heat.

If you're considering having your pet spayed, call the veterinary hospital. Ask how old your kitten should be and what she should weigh at the time of surgery.

Enjoy your kitty!

even by checking the teeth is what is used to know, the eact day is impossible to tell unless you watched it. many kitten even at 8 weeks which is the norm for stoped weining, many do go further. by law in most states, no animal can be sold or given away until 8 weeks of age as thats the norm of the weining stopped. unfortunately, they go past that on most cats. i've seen them at four and five months still on the mother. just like in humans, its a rough guess of the day of inception. teeth can pretty much tell the age, but whether its a dog or cat, their canines come in at adult age. the most used way is counting the teeth. they will lose teeth once they are weined and their regular teeth will come in.

Hi found this website interesting for your question. You didn't say what size of kitten family you were interested in. Of course yes their teeth. I thought this website was interesting.

Watch a Litter Grow!!!!
At Mandala Exotic Cats we have been cat breeders for some time and had many beautiful litters of Chausies and Jungle Cat Hybrids. We decided to keep a daily record of the kittens from birth until they leave our cattery at eight weeks of age. This site starts with an opening night dialogue between the breeder and some of his customers while the birth was actually taking place and then follows the chausie and jungle cat hybrid cubs as they grow and develop. The father of these beautiful kittens is Mongo, a pure Golden Male Jungle Cat and the mother is Cleo Panther , a beautiful jungle cat hybrid. She threw some excellent chausie and jungle cat hybrid kittens this time around as I am sure you will agree. There are tons of pictures for you to enjoy. We are proud cats and take great pride in our litters as breeders of distinction. We hope you enjoy our cats as much as we do.
Thank you for stopping by..

You can usually tell by the teeth. It is kinda hard to tell without seeing the animal, but if the K-9 teeth are really small or non-existing the kitten is prob. under 4-6 months old.

I didn't know until I took my cat to the vet. They check their teeth. I guess the kittens loses its milk tooth once it reaches a certain age. They use that to determine it's age.
