Stand back more , if after meal offer a mint , staying on chats will do but at sometime you'll need steps to be closer and fresh mints on hand . Esp at clubs or smokers , I'm one of those " smokers " I personally carry mints .

If you really want to know why, it's because the brain stops registering smells that you smell constantlly... that's how butchers or pathologists can deal with the smell of death, their brains quit telling them about it... the same with bad breath, after a time, the brain figures you already know and stops telling you, so the answer is, THEY DON'T KNOW... seems like they should, yes, and do i wish they did know, yes, but they just don't... after a few hours, the brain stops telling them. sorry...

The person who continually has bad breath, becomes oh so used to the "smell" that they don't smell it anymore... the sad part is that we all have to smell it. Try offering the person a much needed mint/gum

i really don't no but when i was a manager at an apartment complex i had a maintenance man that had awful breath it would make you sick i swear you would of thought he stopped on the side of the road and fixed his self a dog chit sandwich before he came to work and he just had to jump right in your face to talk it was a nightmare

Probably because no one has told them that their breath is bad. If a guy talk to me with bad breath I'm going to inform him of it. That way he can take care of it.

rather my history instructor, her breath is killer and she or he continuously has a tendency to get accurate on your face and acceptable off your nostrils mutually with her poisonous breath. she seems immuned to her nasty mofo breath. god, everytime she comes close to me, I surely might want to carry my breath. faster or later i'd opt to inform her to sweep her the teeth or perhaps shove an finished packet of breath mints down her throat =)

I know...you're absolutely right on! Seems like people with the foulest breath have a secret to tell you and they have to whisper it to you and get awfully close! BLECH! And they don't get the hint when you offer them gum...."No, that's okay". Darn it...take the dang gum!

they are just like any other people, you might ask them if they want a piece of minty gum, without being obvious, of course!
and if they say no, just ask them to give you a little room, your uncomfortable with getting so face-to-face, and it would be easier to talk without being so close together!

Because they don't know they have bad breath and chances are it they have bad breath and don't know it they don't have good oral hygiene and chances are if they they don't have good oral hygiene they don't have very good social skills and don't understand personal space.
