...........the mother should be going to get it when it wanders off. I have no idea why the kitten is doing that. None of the nine kittens my cat had did that. I'm sorry I can't be of more help. If your cat isn't bring it back or isn't feeding it then you're going to have to do it. Go get some kitten formula before the stores close, just in case.

If it was born only 4 hours ago, it probably has some internal damage. Especially if it only does that when you pick it up. Try to keep it warm, and get it to it's mother for food asap, even If you have to get one of the other kittens out of the way. Keep a close eye on it, becuase it doesn't sound good, sorry.

kittens that are that young are immobile, chances are if it isn't in the vicinity of momma she has moved it.
Could be she has sensed something is wrong with the kitten or she intends to move herself to a new more secure location and has already moved the kitten there.
In any case it is not recommended that you handle the new Born's, some females will reject the kittens if the human scent is on them. Just leave her alone and let nature take its course.

If the mother is not looking after it,,,,it means something is wrong with it. It is natures way. My mama cat left a kitten alone after birth,,,,when I finally retrieved the kitten, it's back legs were deformed. You might want to place it in another area away from the mother and other kittens and care for it until you can get with a vet.

Keep it tightly bundled in a little blanket or pillow case. Don't cover it's head. It might be having trouble breathing, so keep rubbing it's chest, paws and back until it looks more active. The rubbing will stimulate his blood flow. I would suggest you take it to a vet if it survives the night.

is it sleeping? If you are concerned, call a vet and tell them what you see. Make sure that the kittens are in a safe area. Where is it's mom? Usually mom doesn't let them go anywhere.

Maybe it's sick. Just my opinion, you should take it to the vet. Maybe there's something wrong with it.
