We have given Israel almost 100,000$ for every person that has lived there over the last couple of decades when all is said and done.. wouldn't it be better to buy off the Muslims instead of their most hated enemy, the Jews?

Why don't we cut EVERYONE off, and keep the billions in tax dollars and see what kind of democracy(!!!!) we can bring to our OWN land?

Well, who said democracy even works? The figures are off a few ten billion dollars. That doesn't make anyone stupid. Fools maybe, but everyone willingly hoped for a home for the followers of Judaism. Idealistic, isn't it? The other excuse was to have a port to maintain stability in the middle east. It may have turned out so. If we get our asses in trouble in the region would Isreali's back us up? Who knows? Maybe they'll always remain as front runners. The US is the guard dog and Isreal the master.

First off, America should not support Israel. End of Story.

Second, Muslims do not hate Jews. They hate what is happening in the Middle East.

Third, America wants to be the hero again like they were in WWII, but this time we have an idiot of a president and instead of helping, we are supporting the deaths of innocent people.

In the first place, it's obvious you are not a christian or a jew and therefore haven't a clue as to the original reason for Israel being heavily supported by us, although it turned into a political reason, the bible is clear that whoever blesses israel will be blessed, and so far usa has been very blessed. WW3 would come even if we didn't support Israel, you cannot stop the will of God or His prophecies from coming.

First of all, the muslims will not be bought- even if we did, there would still be people hating us so much that there would continue to be terrorists out there, killing us off. And second, we cant cut EVERYONE off cause we need trade (oil basically). We are supporting the Israelis cause 1. they are non-muslim and the majority of the American population associates muslims with terrorists and 2. We need allies in the middle east so if and when we need to attack places in the middle east, at least we will have a foothold

No, you're not. Firstly, some background: Israel's formation is the direct result of the Balfour Declaration which was Britain's decision to go back on the deal they wade with the Arabs for fighting WWI against the turks (too much to go into here). That said, the region itself has been taken over and re-taken over by so many people throughout history that no one can lay real claim to it: therefore, both sides need to accept the solution of 2 lands and allow for Israel to exist.

Our foreign policy -- especially this administration's foreign policy which is defined by neoconservatives -- is too much interwoven with Israel's interests. Bush's recent change of his old unilateral stance (given the crises in the world and failure of his old policy) is still not in sync when it comes to a common approach with the EU. Our history with being too one-sided with Israel has cost us dearly and ... there is a great deal of evidence that shows Israel doesn't consider our interests if theirs are in disagreement. I would rather that we ended the one-sided approach and looked out for our own interests.

You need to get your facts straight. We are fighting terrorists who want to blow up our country, Israel, France, England, Spain, Germany, Russia, just to name a few. The aid we give to Isrtael is due to their destroy economy dues to terrorism. This is nothing compared to the $530 billion dollars in aid that has gone to the palestinians who want to blow people up to get their land. Try pointing your selfish finger at the right people. If we do not figh terrorism, it will come looking for us and there will be no democracy. There won't even be a country to have a democracy in.

one reason terrorism is out of control is because we have a bunch of cowardly nations on this earth who only care about their own selves. they won't do anything except criticize...

stupid for questioning (i.e. thinking) no. Short-sighted for singling out Israel and making gross generalizations and other false assumptions, yes. If it was Egypt vs. Tanzania or something like that our response would (and should) be the same. The government is responding to an act of terrorism. the problem is that the government of Lebenon is allowing (and has been helping) the terrorists for quite some time now.

""We have given Israel almost 100,000$ for every person that has lived there over the ""

Hay BABY! Those figures are not correct....ALL MONEY to Israel was LOANED - not GIVEN!
Israel has paid back the money each and every time.

NOW POSSIBLY it would be worth seeing what the USA and UN has GIVEN The various palestinian governments-- including the millions Mrs.arafat still has in her own personal bank accounts.

Excuse me???????? The Israelis did not take the initiative. It was the Palesinians and then the Hezbollah who kidnapped the Israeli soldiers and bombed Israel. Israel is simply fighting back and defending its country.

If Canada or Mexico kidnapped and bombed the US, you can bet that the US would do the same thing that Israel is doing.

Isreal has existed side by side with nations who want nothing to do with it but wipe it off the face of the earth.
it's like being in a room with all your in-laws and their family.Only they're all packing heat and quoting scripture.
If you believe in freedom and democracy you should be supporting peace in general and isreal in particular.
Remember: Anwar Sadat was shot by his own arabs because he thought making true peace with Israel was the right thing to do.
