If Iran nukes Israel, what should the United States do?

I think if Iran nukes anyone the US will go to war (officially or not) or Iran, with most of the other major powers of the world joining them. Iran showing they are not afraid to break the Nash equilibrium - the nuclear stalemate - will scare countries into action against Iran. It will probably be the stupidest thing Iran could do, using their bargaining chip up and at the same time making the world hate them with a fervor never before seen.

It will never happen. The second after an iranian missile launches Israel will launch 20 missiles in order to erase Iran from the map. The U.S. won´t need to do anything because the israeli´s would have finished the job even before GW finds out that there has been nuclear exchange between the two countries.

If Iran nukes Isreal, it will be the last thing Iran does. America and our allies would immediatly declare war on Iran because the use of nuclear weapons on other nations is unacceptable. so America and our allies would immediatly attack Iran and anyone who backs them, demanding that if Iran uses nukes, we would wipe them off the face of the earth using our nuclear capabilities. then N.Korea will join in and attack Japan or S. Korea, then we declare war on them, China jumps in joining N.Korea, Canada would join America and our allies. and WWIII will begin and not end until 2012 according to a book I heard about. and I have no clue who Russia would join.

Nothing. Israel is more than capable of defending itself, and way ahead of Iran in the nuclear arms race if it comes to that. Besides, it's not our fight. Of course, that never stopped George W. before. I'm just telling you what we SHOULD do.

We have to help them . We signed an agreement with Israel to stand with them , if they are attacked . The question is what will we do , when a nuclear cloud fly over the US and contaminates our food and water, with the dust and rain and exposes everyone to it . Like it did to Japan in 1945 . Will you be so eager for war then ?
