My youngest daughter is two and a half, and constantly gets bruises on her shins and knees. It is typical of the age... they are climbing and exploring constantly, so there are bound to be some times when they get bumped around. The bruises may be a little unsightly, but other than that, they aren't anything to worry about. However, if you do notice that your daughter tends to have bruises for long periods of time, that don't seem to go away, talk to your child's pediatrician. Some forms of leukemia present this way. I suspect that it is just the former kind of bruises, and that means your daughter is having a great time exploring the world around her! Don't concern her with her appearance just yet... there will be plenty of times as she gets older that she will obsess over little idosyncrasies of her body.

Well hun ignore Jermaine, he is probably too sick to even mention on here and full mention what his mental problems truly are. My daughter is 18 months old and has many bruises from playing and all...it's natural and anyone with a brain will understand she is just active. So, try a good brand of lavender extract that could help i've heard and just let her get the bruises, it's normal

No not that I know of. She's just 3 yr. old and she will get more
then that. When my daughter was that age, she would fall every
block when she would run. She wasn't lefting her foot off the ground everytime she would step into the next. My Grand-daughter does the same thing. She is also 3 yr. old. We have to
remember they have short legs and can't reach parts of the play
gym, if thats were she getting it from.

No....that is so normal for kids.. but sometimes if someone has low iron in their system they do bruise more easily and they are darker. But I am sure if you look at other active 3 year olds their legs look the same....they are just active kids...and to the one who said something about you beating your kid....needs to be reported!!!!

My child has it as well, but it is something they are born with. Elidel is a crean that might help, but it is not very affective. I had a nurse who asked if I hit my child, but the doctor set her straight. They will get lighter as she get older as you may know. Don't let it stress you out. She seems to be a wonderful healthly child besides that, and you seem to be a great mother for asking. Never be asham that you don't have all the answers none of us PARENTS do. Take care.

You can use lavender extract to help heal them faster. You should also increase her vit. C intake. Bruises are normal for little kids but if you suspect abuse ask her questions about how she got them and ask her care provider if she has one. If you take care of her then just keep a closer eye on her and do some childproofing in your home. If they persist you should take her to your pediatrician.
