Sure, There are plenty of companies that make a EN-EL3 battery pack.
I got a 3rd party battery for my CoolPix 8700 and it worked great. With my D200 I chickened out however, and spent big bucks on a Nikon spare battery.

Yes, I purchased severall from a store on ebay I payed less than 15 dollars for it. I have 2 of them and the stock nikon battery. I get equall performance out of all the battery's.
