You need to understand why you feel this way before you can find a beneficial way to move forward. If you are going through a tough time in your life, it may be natural to feel the way you do. Then you need to look at how to make the situation better. Even if you can't remove yourself from a situation, you can still find ways to cope with it in a good way. Talking to a trusted friend, family member, teacher, or psychotherapist may help you to get through it with less emotional damage. I've also found that getting a hobby (to focus on and put energy into) or finding a creative outlet (like writing, singing, poetry to help deal with negative emotions) helps during these times.

If there is nothing wrong with your life but you still feel depressed, you should seek professional help. There are options besides medication to help treat the illness. Exercising, eating the right foods, and talk therapy may help your overall outlook and can help get your chemicals in balance. I've been clinically depressed since I was 16 and I'm in my 30's now. It took me over 10 years to seek help because I thought I was just in a "slump". I had to take medication for awhile, but I'm off it now. If you think there's a chance you could be clinically depressed, I'd suggest seeking professional help and educating yourself about your illness. There are medical websites (like www.webmd.com) that can also provide help.

Most importantly, remember that all things change with time. You won't feel like this forever. Happy times will come again. Good luck.

What's great to hear, is that you still have the will to live! You may want to check your surroundings. Are you getting enough restful sleep? Are you drinking enough water? Did something happen to you around this time of year? (I was raped several years ago in May, and I notice that I get depressed and edgy around that time) Are there depressing/negative people in your inner circle? These people just add to your depression, whether you know it or not. I've also found that homeopathy helped my depression a lot!! And there is some new age music by "Music by Marcey" that helped me, too. (I Love her music.) Also, focus your thoughts on the positive; your mind can only hold one thought at a time! I'm proud of you for reaching out and asking for help. You will make it through! Peace, Love and Light...

Depression comes from a lot of different areas. What is going on in your life that has you feeling this way? You have to look at every aspect of your life...especially the good. We don't have control over eveything that happens to us in life. However, we do have control over how circumstances effect us. Choose to look at the positives. If you have been feeling this way for a long time, it would be a good idea to see a doctor. It may be chemical (not drugs). Good luck.

I know the feeling. Depression is pretty common in society today.
I find St. Johns Wort along with a multi-vitamin every morning does wonders!
Try one or all of the links below. I hope this helps.
Remember, we may not be able to control all of the things that happen to us in our lives but we can control how we react to them.

First, you gotta give yourself a long, hard, look in the mirror- and ask, "Ok...-What's the problem..?" Are you lonely? Have a crummy self image? Bored to tears? Can't relate to any one or any thing? Etc..??? THEN, -you have to figure out what you're going to DO about it...- In other words; take CHARGE of the feeling that's been taking charge of YOU! DO whatever you have to do to get yourself out of the hole you're IN... Go on a diet; make a new friend; try something NEW & out of character; get a different LIFE- whatever it takes! It won't be easy, it WILL be alittle scary- but so what?- This is the rest of your life we're talking about...-nothing ventured, nothing's worthwhile. Go for it- & good luck!!! :)

Friends, a project to commit to (something you're genuinely interested in), exercise, balanced diet, regular sleeping schedule. Unfortunately the two options you exed off are two of the most helpful because psychologists will monitor your progress and keep you moving, and the medicines will take care of your chemical problems until issues are resolved and you can function on your own.

There are plenty of free hotlines you can call. Sometimes you just need someone to talk to about your feelings. Try and find out what hotlines are available to call in your area. Although truth be told you should probabaly see a therapist.

Reading the bible is a great help when you're feeling down. Always think about the positives and church would be useful too.
