Is that such a bad thing? I think you may want to reconsider your thoughts. Shyness is a great attribute. I agree, being TOO shy can at times be a disadvantage, an antonym of shy is "uninhibited" for the purposes of my explanation. There are many definitions for shy, humble, modest and others. In MY mind shy is a superior quality far exceeding the opposite of what I interpret as boisterous and loud. To me shy means reserved, thoughtful, considerate, level headed and decent.

OK?

Now... get out of your shell and live!

I was always a really shy person and I just learned to relax more. I surronded myself with friends and learned to be outgoing with them. And eventually I was more outgoing in all situations because I learned to not care about what others think of me. I learned to show the wolrd who I really am and I am happier now then I ever was before. The one thing you have to keep in mind is that you can't change until your ready. When you are truely ready, it'll come to you. Asking this question here was your first step.

Start simple at first...just make eye contact with people. Once you feel a bit comfortable doing this the next step is to smile and say hi to anyone where you be in the mall, school wherever. Slowly build confidence and try and socialize a bit. What is the worst that could happen?

well if your really shy then at first go with a friend that isnt as shy as you are and go to a big public place like and arcade, skating rink, etc. and try making some friends but BE YOURSELF or youll seriously screw up. it worked for me

place yourself in situations that make you feel uncomfortable on purpose, do thingz that force you to talk & interact with people that you normally would'nt, situations that force you to talk 2 them, & eventually u will see u have nothing 2 be shy about & the shyness will evaporate (-_-(-_-)-_-)

Practice talking to guys who you don't want to hook up with. I have the same problems (chronic, chemical imbalance in the brain thing) and that's what I usually do. Except I talk to girls...who cares about the guys? lol
