Not likely.
With only a nail and crucifix, there would be no material available to him to generate the wingspan necessary to produce enough lift to keep the crucifix aloft.
Additionally, while even MacGuyver (sic) doesn't know the precise location of heaven, we do know that we've been able to travel into space without getting heaven. The atmosphere would become too thin, even if he had managed to get the crucifix aloft, and he would not be able to continue to sustain his altitude, nor would he be able to breathe.
So, I can conclusively say that he could NOT have turned the nail and crucifix into a hang glider to heaven.

Nah, he'd need chewing gum, too. Chewing gum is always the secret ingredient that makes those kinds of things work. If Macguyver ever ran out of gum he'd be screwed.

Not sure about that. I think he would have been more sensible and built a stairway to heaven. He would just need some dental floss, duct tape and a pack of red Twizzler licorice to complete the project.

I think he would have palmed one of Mary Magdalen's tampons, and mixed it with hand lotion to create a bomb, which would create a diversion, so he could escape.
