The history of America was a violent one. Wars over land has been the story of world history. I think it is hypocritical to say, I own this land, when in fact, it was taken over or invaded by other people.

I agree with you, no one has true rights to land, in 100 years who will 'own' this land? Just as we stole it from the native Indians with brute force, who will steal it from us?

There are quite a few signed treaties going back 100s of years (look under Treaties on Web). And we have many signed Documents of Now States that joined-going back to the Colonies.
Sitting Bull was born on Grand river S.D.
We have signed documents on S.D. He did resist but other tribes (majority rules) went along with the document--signed and sealed.
Many were born here and according to the Document of Government here long ago. We the people owe it.
No Country in the world disputes that.
There comes a time-every country has too many people to care for--History. No country in the world today doesn't have borders. Census have been taking count of people since the beginning of time. So rulers could not only get the taxes but to control countries affairs.
Facts are there-see web
In a idea world that would be fine--but it isn't an idea world.
The problem is how do you take care of the people you have before more come in. We can not do it now (we can't-there isn't enough money) but to continue to add and add people is killing others (yes killing-our poor can not live on SSD or SS-they don't buy their medicine-it is usually a choice-mortgage or rent or medicine)Ask a hospital-any
Will there always be poor here -that's yes. But do we hurt them more to help others do better? How many times? Hurt to Help shouldn't be an option. The people here deserve some respect and protection from harm of any form.
In an Idea world you would get your wish. In this world-no.

Things would have to change-benefits and health will have to change or go bankrupt--that is on the web too.

Who will cover it--the people can't who came here not even if they pay taxes ---and a good percentage of them will need it--to also afford to live here. Many of them will be poorer than they were living elsewhere.
We have thousands and thousands and thousands homeless now--maybe you only see a few now and than==but with the at least 13 million more added-you are going to see a least a million more of them too-struggling to survive.
There are many issues if you look further than today.
In an idea world-yours would be a good way. The truth is that is not what we have.

If you don't look at all the issues-you will not like -all the results.

What is the point of your question? What kind of "sales slip" does any law abiding tax payer need, whether they were born here or are LEGAL immigrants, like perhaps your ancestors?

Im not sure I understand where youre coming from. Are you saying that 100% pure blood American indians are the only ones that have true so-called "ownership"? Maybe youre right. But thats not going to solve any problems today, especially since the United States was founded by and still supports immigration, no matter what country anyone is coming from. If we do not support this ideal, then we are not really being "American".

Wow. You need to read about political systems and whatnot. The thing is, in the past, the land of countries actually belonged to the King who ruled over everyone who lived on his land. The power was truely trickle down economics with the surfs being just above the bottom (there's always someone worse off). This country was set up in such a way that supposedly the politicians don't own the country but the people do. While it works better in theory than practice, it is a good plan that promotes pride in citizenship. You and your ancestors were born here. So were mine for the last few hundred years. We are American citizens. Why aren't you proud of your country and mine? Why don't you want to share in that with me instead of being so divisive?

We Dont Need No Stinkin Sales Slip

This Is The UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
And This Country Is OWNED By The TAXPAYERS
(That Would Be WE THE PEOPLE)

Accept It....Theres NOTHING Else You Can Do

Except FIGHT For It And Take It Over
And That Wont Get You Very Far

300 Million AMERICAN CITIZENS
Is A Force To Be Reckoned With
And We Aint Givin It Up That Easy

Not Even To Our Treasonous, Corrupt Government
Can Hand It Over To You

You are saying that in your view people cannot 'own' a country even if they built its infrastructure, created its laws and pay subsidies that provide poor people with its services like education, etc.

I disagree.

Therefore, we will never see eye to eye on this point.

However, totally aside from any idea of ownership, I don't want to pay to educate those illegally here when my own children don't get adequate education due to the expense and crowding from educating illegals.

You note that certain things bought a right 'to live here'. In a nutshell what bought a right to live in the United States and take the benefits of the United States is following the laws of the United States. The illegals didn't.

Americans fought hard for this land and all the privileges that go with it.
Damn right people get resentfull when we get these border jumpers and such that come here to take advantage of all our opportunity's and do not even have the courtesy to learn enough english to fill out an application at McDonald's!
We get pi$$ed off seeing our hard earned tax dollars being handed over on a silver platter to these people who can't keep their damned legs shut!
Meanwhile our senior citizens do not have enough money to buy food and much needed medications! Lets help our own country and the people in it first!
Go to their countries and see how you are treated.

Silly woman, not only have I heard of Sitting Bull & Quanah Parker, I personally know some of Sitting Bulls descendants, among others of various tribes who have honorable and wise ancestors.
I come from the earth of this land, that is why my skin is the color it is. I am a part of this land, connected for life. A bond stronger than life or death, for I will return to my mother earth upon my demise.
I need no piece of paper to know that this is MY country, nor do I need to show proof of such to any others, including you.
Wherever I stand, & whatever I am strong enough to hold is mine.Come find out how dear it is to me. My people will always be here. Silly woman!

You are joking with us right? So according to gidget who does have the "sales slip" for this country? Ya I've heard of Sitting Bull and Quannah Parker. Don't know who Quantum Parker is though, lol. I've also heard of Running Dear and Black Elk, old Indians who dished out wisdom like candy and had great respect for the victors of battle. They never said they liked being beat but they walked tall regardless and respected their defeaters and their laws as was honorable. I thank them for teaching me that bitterness and hate is a cancer that would only hurt myself and my people further and for teaching me to live with honor and respect under any circumstance. They taught me to walk tall and stand with pride and honor! Love and honor is the Native way.....gidget....self-pitty shames and disgraces you as a Native and makes the Natives whom Honor this country look bad. I hope you are not saying this is your country and mine because our ancestors were here first, where I come from that would be cause to banish you from the clan. There is no honor in your thinking? It's destructive to your people!

Get over it already! My family has been here like forever too. I did not steal anything from anyone. As for the sob story of the land belonging to the native Americans..........get over that too! Since the first human couple were cast out of the Garden of Eden we have been hunters and gatherers traveling from one location to the next.

The only ones that say it like "get out of MY country" is the indian couple on board here; nobody else is that stupid. That sqwirlwhacker sounds like part of their family. Don't worry about it. They have nothing else but what they consider patriotic pride. These people get upset at the most stupid things and they write and tell us all about it. It's part of their drama. It's called BUSH Country in my book! Vote Republican!
